HVAC System Upgrade for Offshore Drilling Facility
Shan International was engaged for the HVAC upgrade of the Drill Cabin on Rig West Triton located in Khafji, Saudi Arabia. This project was executed in a demanding offshore drilling environment where system reliability, safety, and precise climate control are critical for continuous operations and personnel well-being.

Scope of Work
Our scope covered the full lifecycle of the HVAC systems, beginning with detailed load calculations and system design tailored to school occupancy requirements. We supported installation coordination, ensured compliance with approved drawings, and carried out comprehensive Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing to verify airflow distribution, temperature control, and system stability. Final commissioning was completed to confirm that all HVAC systems operated according to design intent and Aramco specifications.
Technical Highlights
The project included a total installed cooling capacity of 1,940 tons, designed to deliver consistent comfort across classrooms, administrative areas, and common spaces. Special attention was given to ventilation rates, noise control, and energy efficiency to create a healthy learning environment. All systems were tested and validated using calibrated instruments and industry-recognized commissioning procedures.
Project Impact
The successful delivery of this project ensured that the Saudi Aramco school facilities in Dhahran achieved dependable HVAC performance, improved indoor comfort, and long-term operational reliability. Shan TAB’s structured approach to design verification, TAB, and commissioning supported a smooth handover and provided Aramco with fully documented, compliant systems ready for continuous use.
