Project Overview

Shan International was engaged to deliver comprehensive Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) and HVAC commissioning services for King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, one of the Kingdom’s largest and most prominent academic institutions. The project focused on verifying HVAC system performance across multiple facilities to ensure occupant comfort, safety, and compliance with international engineering standards.

Scope of Work
Shan International performed full HVAC Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing, along with detailed system commissioning to validate design intent and operational performance. The scope included staircase pressurization testing, sound and vibration analysis, indoor air quality (IAQ) testing, and duct leakage testing to assess system efficiency and air distribution integrity. All activities were executed using calibrated instruments and approved testing procedures.
Technical Highlights
The HVAC systems were evaluated for airflow accuracy, pressure control, acoustic performance, and ventilation effectiveness. Staircase pressurization tests were conducted to verify life safety compliance, while sound and vibration testing ensured acceptable noise levels within academic and administrative spaces. Indoor air quality assessments were carried out to confirm healthy indoor environments, and duct leakage testing helped identify and minimize energy losses.
Project Impact
The successful completion of this project enhanced HVAC reliability, indoor comfort, and environmental quality across the university campus. Shan International’s structured TAB and commissioning approach ensured that all systems operated efficiently, safely, and in line with recognized standards. The project delivered long-term operational benefits through improved performance, reduced energy waste, and fully documented compliance results.
