Shan Intl. executed HVAC and commissioning services for the Border Guard Housing Facility at Saudi Aramco’s Shaybah location, a remote and environmentally demanding site. The project focused on delivering a reliable 380-ton chilled water system designed to provide consistent cooling performance for residential housing while meeting Saudi Aramco’s strict engineering and operational standards.

Scope of Work
The scope involved supporting the installation, testing, and commissioning of the chilled water HVAC system serving the housing facility. Shan TAB carried out detailed system verification, ensuring correct chilled water flow, airflow distribution, and temperature control across all occupied areas. Comprehensive Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing activities were performed to confirm that the system operated in accordance with design intent and site requirements.
Technical Highlights
The chilled water system was engineered to operate efficiently under extreme desert conditions typical of Shaybah. Special attention was given to system stability, pressure balancing, and load performance to ensure uninterrupted operation. All TAB and performance validation activities were executed using calibrated instruments and NEBB-aligned procedures, consistent with Shan TAB’s certified third-party approach.
Project Impact
The successful completion of this project ensured a comfortable and reliable living environment for the Border Guard housing community. Shan TAB’s expertise contributed to improved HVAC efficiency, long-term system reliability, and full compliance with Saudi Aramco standards. The project delivered a fully commissioned chilled water system with documented performance results, supporting safe and sustainable facility operation in a challenging location.
